The GREEN Family History
Mary Ann Green was my 3x great grandmother. She was married three times, the last being to her grand-daughter's father-in-law, making her not only her grand-daughter's grandmother, but also her mther-in-law!
Henrietta Green "ran away" with Alexander Hamilton Tovey Parks to Constantinople, Turkey. I believe she had been a nurse to his ailing wife who died from fever in 1851. After his wife's death, Henrietta joined him as he and his children left for Turkey. They had three children in Turkey while unmarried, but eventually they returned to Portsmouth, England and were married in 1860. Together, they had 11 children.
Caroline Green married James Bramble and together they had 12 children. The Bramble family were quite large and had a very interesting history.
My 3x great grandmother. She married James John Lakeman in 1842. After his death she married twice more, the last time to her granddaughter's father in law, making her, her granddaughter's mother in law!
The marriage certificate for Caroline Green and James Bramble, July 26, 1846 at Alverstoke.
Younger sister to my 3x great grandmother, Henrietta sailed to Turkey with her future husband, Alexander H. T. Parks. Together they had 11 children. Undated photo.
Judging by her clothing this was likely taken after 1861 when she married and had returned to England from Constantinople.
Mary Ann Green in a photo from 1903. At this time she would have been married to her third husband, Henry Hoskins.
